yes. simple buy a used keyboard at yard sale. They are a dime a dozen. so many people buy them thinking they want to play the piano and they find out how difficult it is and how dedicated they must be and how they must practice practice practice so they give up after a couple of weeks of good intentions and sell their keyboard for about one tenth of what they paid for it just ot get rid of it.
So before you go on with all the questions just do what I said and get over it.

Well, you would need at least a keyboard or something. But you don’t necessarily need an acoustic piano to take lessons.

As far as playing goes, I would say an acoustic piano would probably be best, but digital pianos nowadays are pretty close in quality, as far as playing action and the general feel goes. They can be pretty pricey though. Keyboards are alright, but I’d recommend weighted keys for a little bit more money.

You can find used upright acoustic pianos for free if you’re willing to transport it on craigslist. Or you can buy one anywhere from $200 to several thousand. Digital are usually in the $800 up range, and keyboards can be anywhere from $80-$1000. It all depends what features you want, what brand you get, etc.

Most popular brands I know of are Yamaha, Casio, Korg, Kawai, and Roland.

I have no idea how much they would cost, depends if you find a music school or just a private teacher, take lessons at your house or at a school/teacher’s house.

It most certainly is not too late. I started playing when I was 15 and had some experience from playing flute, but absolutely none from piano. I took a few lessons and taught myself after that with a lot of practice and sheet music.

For lessons you would want at least a keyboard like me or a digital piano. You can also take lessons at music stores and not have a piano or keyboard, but it would be good to own something. If you choose keyboard go with Yamaha. Most keyboards at tops cost about 200$ minimal amount is about 100$. I am not the best at the cost of lessons especialy in canada because I live in the northwest of the USA. Finally, it is best to start young, but the sooner the better. Hey, Mozart started when he was 2 years old.

sorry but u must hv a piano or a keyboard to learn the piano properly, u may take lessons but lyk 90% happens at home, where you practise and practise.
If you only play during ur lessons, ur fingers wil not get used to being flexible and u have to practise everday to maintain ur standard.
my favourite brand is Steinway & Sons and Kawai, Yamaha is also good.
piano lessons range from $40-$100 NZdollars but im not so sure about Canada,

    gud luck and happy playing!

NO. You must have a piano to learn piano.
    1:Acoustic pianos.
2: a, vertical :3,500$( Yamaha or kawai) Grand piano: from10.000$(yamaha c3) up to 300.000$(Steinway or Fazioli or Bechstein…)
    b,1000$
    c,500$
3: Yamaha has got a great quality\price rate, but one of the best is Fazioli, great italian piano.
    4, I don’t know, I’m italian(sorry for my english!)
5: I haven’t understood your question (see above for details!).

Heck there are plenty of "students" who have a piano and never touch it between their lessons.

… Frustrating for the teacher, but a nice source of income if the kids stay at the primer level for six or seven years.
